This particular role is a part-time evening cleaning position based at Atkins Inc.'s physical work location. The successful candidate will undertake cleaning tasks assigned to a specific area within a designated time frame, consistently prioritizing safety and quality. Responsibilities include waste management duties such as emptying trash cans, ash trays, and other refuse receptacles, as well as replacing liners to maintain hygiene standards. The role requires using appropriate cleaning solutions and equipment to dust, damp wipe, and spot clean a variety of surfaces within office and common areas, including desks, tables, chairs, filing cabinets, shelves, telephones, computer equipment, walls, light switches, partitions, doors, and mirrors.
A significant portion of the cleaning duties involves floor maintenance, employing vacuum cleaners, dusters, and mops to ensure hallways, office floors, and baseboards are dust-free and spotless. The position also demands comprehensive restroom cleaning, including the use of disinfectants, replenishment of soap and tissue supplies, removal of trash, cleaning of fixtures and mirrors, dusting of vents, and mopping of floors. The candidate must be vigilant in identifying mechanical or electrical issues such as faulty door locks or dead plugs and promptly reporting these to supervisors.
Maintaining security is a key aspect of the role, including ensuring all lights are turned off and doors are locked upon completing work. The janitor closets must be kept clean and organized, and cleaning materials and supplies need to be properly stored and refilled as necessary at the end of each shift. Flexibility is important, as additional duties may be assigned from time to time by the lead supervisor.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Availability to work evening shifts
- Ability to lift and carry cleaning supplies and equipment
- Passing any required background checks
- Compliance with company policies
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Willingness to perform repetitive cleaning tasks
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Empty trash cans ash trays and other waste receptacles into refuse collection bags trash cans replace can liners
- Using proper cleaning solutions and cleaning cloths or dusters dust damp wipe and or spot clean all horizontal and vertical surfaces such as desks table tops chairs filing cabinets book shelves telephone instruments computer equipment walls light switches partitions doors and mirrors
- Using vacuum cleaner and or floor dusting mopping equipment vacuum and or dust mop all office area floors and base boards
- Vacuum and or dust damp mop all hallway floors and base boards spot clean as needed
- Clean restroom prespray disinfectants and bathroom cleaners re-supply soap tissue towels and feminine hygiene dispensers clean vents dust walls doors and partitions remove trash clean and wipe dry fixtures mirrors and dispensers spot wash walls doors and partitions sweep and or wet mop floors
- Make note of any mechanical and or electrical malfunctions ie door locks dead plugs switches and report to supervisor
- Make sure all lights are out and appropriate doors are locked when leaving an area
- Keep janitor closets clean neat and orderly
- Return all cleaning materials and supplies to storeroom refill items as needed at end of shift
- Perform other duties as assigned from time to time by lead
