Currently, the department is seeking a Part-time Catering Event Supervisor to join its nationally recognized team. This role is ideal for individuals with diverse talents and backgrounds who are passionate about delivering exceptional catering experiences and contributing to a positive campus atmosphere.

The Part-time Catering Event Supervisor operates under the direction of the Catering Services Operations Assistant and the Catering Assistant General Manager. This supervisory role involves overseeing catering staff at multiple on-campus locations, ensuring that events are executed flawlessly according to guest specifications detailed in service orders. The supervisor is responsible for supervising all aspects of event setup, food delivery, service, inventory management, and adherence to safety and sanitation procedures. The ability to work independently and take initiative as a self-starter is essential, as is the capacity to demonstrate creativity in problem-solving and customer service. The event supervisor must also have excellent communication skills to interact professionally and effectively with people at all levels. Physical demands include the ability to stand, bend, stoop, and engage in fast-paced mobility for extended periods, as well as the capability to lift up to 75 pounds when required.

As a part-time position, this role offers flexibility but does not include benefits such as health insurance due to the employment status being less than 1000 hours. Candidates should be prepared to work nights and weekends as scheduling requires. Certification in Managerial ServSafe is required within one year of hire, ensuring compliance with food safety standards. The ideal candidate may hold an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts, Business, or Hospitality Management and have prior experience supervising catering operations in multi-event or multi-venue environments.

Joining the University of Dayton's Dining Services team means becoming part of a caring and inclusive community committed to providing high-quality food service experiences that enhance campus life.
