Job Requirements
- No prior experience or training necessary
- ability to work flexible schedule including weekends
- ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, and lift items up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds with assistance
- ability to use computer keyboard and mouse
- compliance with company policies and procedures
- punctual and reliable attendance
Job Qualifications
- At least 16 years of age
- ability to perform physical demands of the job
- ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures
- effective verbal communication skills
- basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to apply common sense to solve problems
- experience using computer systems preferred but not required
- customer service experience is a plus
Job Duties
- Operate cash register by scanning merchandise, engage customers with suggestive selling, process refunds and merchandise credits, use loss prevention techniques to minimize shortages, follow company policies for all transactions, promote Ace Rewards membership and benefits, maintain awareness of ads, rebates, and special pricing, answer telephones and redirect calls, greet customers and assist with merchandise questions, help locate merchandise in-store and online, stock and display merchandise according to plan-o-gram, assist with color matching and paint mixing, collect carts and carry merchandise to customer cars, recommend and assist with service areas including cutting and sharpening, follow maintenance checklist for store cleanliness, refer customer complaints to appropriate personnel
