Bartenders at Hank’s Oyster Bar are expected to start their shifts well-prepared by reviewing key information from previous shifts, ensuring all fresh liquids and syrups are of high quality, and setting up the bar areas meticulously according to company standards. Throughout their working hours, they take orders for both food and beverages, prepare cocktails, maintain the cleanliness and organization of bar areas, and uphold the highest levels of hospitality. Attention to detail, particularly in beverage presentation and ingredient accuracy, is paramount. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years bartending experience
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace

Job Duties

  • Refer to bartender chat log from last night’s shift to catch up on notable information
  • Pull fresh product from bar coolers and taste for freshness
  • Set up top bar including bar mats, shaker tins, bar tools, and garnishes
  • Check and prep batched cocktails to meet par levels
  • Restock and organize all service items according to pars
  • Reorganize back bar, coolers, and storage areas to preset placement levels
  • Take orders for food and beverage
  • Prepare beverages to recipe specifications
  • Maintain organization of bar coolers and storage areas
  • Keep garnish levels fresh and stocked
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of top bar and bar caddies
  • Act as a role model for outstanding service and hospitality
  • Perform all POS functions including opening, closing, comps, voids, and transfers
  • Provide excellent customer service and address guest concerns
  • Coordinate with back-of-house team for timely service and cleanliness
  • Restock service items, bar coolers, and storage areas to preset par levels after shift
  • Clean and organize back bar, top bar, and storage cubbies
  • Fill out bartender chat log with noteworthy information
  • Count out drawer and complete end-of-shift deposits
  • Ensure all beverages made and served are rung in and follow recipe specifications
  • Ensure proper presentation and garnishing of all cocktails
  • Follow all Employee Handbook guidelines
  • Serve guests while monitoring food and beverage quality
  • Update POS system with daily menu specials when applicable
