The Bartender role at Highgate Hotels is pivotal in delivering exceptional guest service and upholding the reputation of the Renaissance property. This position involves comprehensive responsibilities including setting up the bar area, mixing beverages in accordance with established hospitality standards, and maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the service area. Bartenders must be attentive, friendly, and courteous, ensuring every guest is provided with prompt and professional service while managing liquor inventory effectively and adhering strictly to all state liquor laws. This role demands a high level of professionalism, multitasking capabilities, and the ability to respond appropriately to guests’ inquiries, complaints, or concerns.
Bartenders at Highgate are expected to embody the company’s values by maintaining a warm demeanor at all times and fostering a welcoming atmosphere for all guests and colleagues. They are tasked with understanding the full suite of hotel services and facilities to better assist guests and must comply fully with hotel policies and safety regulations. Additionally, bartenders must be prepared to extend their skills through cross-training in other hotel areas and contribute flexibly to departmental and operational needs. The role requires physical stamina, the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, and a keen focus on guest satisfaction. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in hotel or related field preferred
- Ability to stand during entire shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
- Flexible to work long and varied hours
- Maintain regular attendance
- Compliance with hotel policies and safety rules
- Must attend required trainings
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Physical stamina
- Friendly and courteous attitude
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
- Set up the bar according to hotel standards and ensure prompt and efficient guest service
- Prepare beverages and cocktails according to the hotel’s mixing and presentation standards
- Serve guests with all beverage requirements in a friendly, courteous and professional manner
- Break down bar after functions, storing liquor, supplies, and equipment according to hotel standards
- Follow all state liquor laws
- Know hotel services and facilities
- Abide by all hotel policies and safety rules
- Respond to guests' problems, complaints and accidents
- Ensure that the bar and service areas are kept clean and tidy during service
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction
