The Kitchen Utility Worker/Dishwasher position at Parkshore Juanita Bay is an integral part of the dining services team. This hourly role, paying between $21 to $22 per hour depending on experience, involves various duties centered around maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment. The worker will be responsible for monitoring water temperatures and sanitizer levels to ensure compliance with safety regulations, assisting with light food preparation including soups, salads, grills, and vegetable and meat preparation, and adhering to strict sanitary and environmental standards.

Responsibilities also include setting up and breaking down dishwashing machines, cleaning and sanitizing production equipment and kitchen areas, and managing storage for cleaning supplies and chemicals, keeping everything organized and well-stocked. The role requires a proactive attitude towards kitchen organization and cleanliness, helpful communication skills in English, and a willingness to support additional kitchen duties as needed. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Past experience in food preparation highly preferred
  • Experience with kitchen organization
  • Good communication skills in the English language, oral and written
  • Ability to occasionally assist with other kitchen duties
  • Completion of a background screen, which may include drug test, TB test, physical and fingerprinting depending on state/local guidelines
  • First aid/CPR training may be required in certain jurisdictions

Job Duties

  • Monitors and records water temperature and sanitizer solution levels
  • notifies management if levels are not correct
  • Assists in light food preparation on the line including soups, salads, grill, vegetable and meat preparation and safe food handling
  • Follows strict sanitary guidelines and environmental requirements
  • Sets up and breaks down dishwashing machine as necessary, including arms, screens, traps, and baskets
  • cleans inside and outside
  • checks to see it is operating properly
  • Cleans and sanitizes production equipment, work surfaces, ware-washing system, garbage cans, and areas in kitchen
  • Maintains storage room for cleaning supplies, chemicals
  • keeps room clean, and items stocked, labeled, and organized
  • Performs other duties as assigned
