Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree in relevant field required
  • minimum of 3 years experience in event management or public art administration
  • ability to manage complex projects and multiple stakeholders simultaneously
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • experience with contract negotiation and vendor management
  • knowledge of public art regulations and community engagement practices
  • ability to maintain accurate public art records and ensure ordinance compliance

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor's degree in arts administration, public administration, event management, or related field
  • experience in event planning and public art program management
  • proven ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate diverse stakeholders
  • excellent negotiation and contract management skills
  • strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • familiarity with municipal public art ordinances and community cultural programming
  • experience working with public commissions or arts boards is preferred

Job Duties

  • oversee planning, coordination, and production of community festivals and events
  • manage public art initiatives including implementing the Public Art Master Plan
  • serve as staff liaison to the Arts Commission
  • manage website content related to public art and Arts Commission activities
  • ensure compliance with the Percent for Art Ordinance and manage public art permit applications
  • maintain detailed records of public art installations
  • negotiate, prepare, and manage contracts with vendors, performers, artists, and community partners
  • collaborate with Economic Development Manager and developers on public art requirements
  • ensure compliance with city policies and foster inter-agency collaboration
