Job Description

Fly Away Valet is a reputable hospitality service provider specializing in premium valet parking services at Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW). As a full-time employer offering competitive compensation, the company is dedicated to fostering an exceptional guest experience through professional, courteous, and efficient service. Employees are compensated at a rate of $13.50 per hour plus tips and overtime, providing an attractive income potential of up to $55,000 annually, inclusive of tips and overtime pay. Fly Away Valet ensures its staff is rewarded with weekly payroll, enabling timely compensation for their efforts.

The role of a Valet with Fly Away Valet is crucial in maintaining a welcoming, safe, and organized parking environment for guests at one of the busiest airports in the region. The position requires employees to act as the primary face of the company, exemplifying excellent customer service and communication skills. Valets are responsible not only for greeting guests with enthusiasm and professionalism but also for offering safe and efficient vehicle guidance, which involves managing and coordinating parking spaces and providing clear directions adhering to company standards. This role demands attention to detail in vehicle inspection upon arrival and departure, ensuring that any pre-existing damage is noted and communicated effectively.

Valets also have a duty to assist guests requiring special support and to handle luggage with care—sometimes utilizing a golf cart to transport bags from the parking lot to the terminal. Being proactive in identifying and reporting any security concerns or operational issues is another essential aspect of the position. The role involves resolving guest complaints swiftly and appropriately, always promoting the highest standard of hospitality while remaining vigilant to customer needs. Additionally, maintaining the valet area’s cleanliness and neatness is part of the job, contributing to a positive guest impression and a safe work environment.

This position requires a candidate with a valid in-state driver’s license and a clean driving record able to pass an MVR background test and airport security clearance, reflecting the high safety standards necessary for operating within an airport environment. Candidates should bring at least one year of hospitality experience, preferably with customer service or parking industry exposure. The physical demands of the role are significant, requiring the ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, and lift for extended periods, as well as the capacity to work in various weather conditions such as heat, wind, rain, and snow. Reporting directly to the Assistant Valet Manager or Valet Manager, the valet position offers an opportunity to grow within a dynamic and customer-focused team setting.

Fly Away Valet, managed by Jacobsen Daniels, emphasizes workplace diversity and equal employment opportunities. The company is compliant with applicable laws prohibiting discrimination, promoting an inclusive work environment where all employees are valued regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital or veteran status, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected status. This commitment underlines the company’s dedication to fostering a respectful and supportive workplace for all its employees.
