The Customer Service Representative is responsible for facilitating efficient parking services, primarily by managing cash transactions, assisting customers with inquiries, and supporting the operational flow through the gates. Key responsibilities include cash handling, maintaining accurate records of daily financial transactions, resolving customer concerns politely and effectively, and ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of the work area. In addition, the role requires employees to be flexible in working various shifts, including potential evenings, weekends, or holidays, depending on the location's requirements.
To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate strong mathematical skills for handling cash and transactions, excellent communication capabilities to guide and assist customers, and the ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced and sometimes challenging environment. A valid state-issued driver's license is needed, along with a reliable attendance record. Job Requirements
- Less than high school education
- Up to one month related experience or training or equivalent
- Availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift and/or weekends
- Valid state-issued driver’s license
- Acceptable driving record
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read and understand simple instructions
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Ability to follow standard written or oral instructions
- Ability to respond effectively to customer complaints
- Ability to use clock or calculator or credit card machine
- Ability to maintain courteous and pleasant manner
- Physical ability to sit and reach frequently, occasional walking
- Close vision required
Job Qualifications
- Less than high school education or up to one month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift and/or weekends if required
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with current address and acceptable driving record
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions and decimals
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information to customers and colleagues
- Ability to apply common sense to follow detailed but standard instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to use clock, calculator or credit card machine to handle transactions
- Ability to maintain pleasant demeanor on telephone and with public
- Ability to effectively respond to customer problems or complaints
Job Duties
- Be at work every scheduled day, on time and in uniform
- Count bank of revenue at beginning of shift to ensure starting total is correct
- Collect cash and/or validations and maintain security of cash
- Make change and issue receipts or tickets to customer for each transaction
- Compute or recompute bill from ticket showing amount due per customer
- Operate cash register after time calculation, calculate cost of transaction and display it on cash register
- Quote prices for parking services and receive money from customers
- Give directions to customers to various city locations
- Complete lost ticket forms when original tickets cannot be located
- Resolve customer complaints independently or with aid of supervisor
- Answer telephone promptly and courteously
- Maintain cleanliness of booth and surrounding area
- Conduct timely checks for necessary work aids and supplies in booth
- Verify log of shift transactions against bank of revenue on hand
- Compile bank of collected revenue during day once predetermined amount is reached
- Record amounts received, cars in/out of facility and prepare shift report
- Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor
