Job Description
Grove is a distinguished membership club situated within a breathtaking 2,700-acre redwood forest in the lower Russian River Valley of Sonoma County. For over 150 years, members and their guests have gathered at the Grove to immerse themselves in a unique blend of cultural and natural offerings. The setting provides an extraordinary escape from everyday life, where arts, music, literature, and drama flourish alongside serene nature walks and exceptional dining experiences. This magnificent locale offers a harmonious synthesis of outdoor adventure, creative expression, and social engagement, making it a cherished retreat for those seeking both solace and stimulation in equal measure.
The Valet Parking Supervisor role is a key position in the smooth operation of the Grove’s vehicle management services during its vibrant summer season. This role is seasonal, tailored for the summer months of 2026, encompassing the Spring Jinks event from June 8 to June 14 as well as the Summer Encampment from July 6 to July 31. The position offers an excellent hourly wage and flexible schedules designed to accommodate a summer-only commitment. As Valet Parking Supervisor, you will be entrusted with overseeing the valet parking team, ensuring efficient, safe, and courteous handling of members’ and guests’ vehicles. This role is critical not only for operational efficiency but also for creating a welcoming atmosphere as you interact directly with club patrons upon their arrival and departure.
Success as a Valet Parking Supervisor at the Grove hinges on a blend of organizational acumen, team leadership, and customer service expertise. The supervisor leads valet staff in parking vehicles in designated lot areas in an orderly, safe, and timely manner, maintaining the highest standards of care. Clear communication, an approachable demeanor, and professional conduct form the cornerstone of daily operations. Maintaining a tidy, appropriate uniform is part of the professional expectations, supporting the club's reputation for excellence.
This role also demands physical capability, including lifting and maneuvering vehicles and equipment, with expectations that the incumbent can personally lift 40 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Ideal candidates will hold a valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record and be able to operate various vehicle transmissions, with manual transmission skills considered advantageous. Age and background checks are integral to ensuring the safety and integrity of the service provided. The Grove's commitment to equal employment opportunity ensures a supportive and inclusive work environment for all employees, aligning with ethical hiring practices and respect for diversity.
Choosing to work at the Grove as a Valet Parking Supervisor means becoming part of a storied institution cherished for its rich history, natural beauty, and commitment to culture and community. The summer work experience promises a unique setting to develop leadership capabilities, enhance organizational skills, and engage with a diverse clientele in a prestigious and inspiring environment. This seasonal position is ideal for motivated individuals who appreciate a dynamic work setting combined with the serene backdrop of towering redwoods and the camaraderie of festival-like gatherings.
