The parking attendant role involves being trained in both valet and shuttle services, with a primary focus on valet functions. Attendants greet customers with a friendly and professional demeanor, assist with vehicle parking, and ensure smooth transportation within hospital grounds. This role is integral to maintaining the operational efficiency of the parking and shuttle services, contributing significantly to overall patient and visitor satisfaction. \n\nThe position demands responsibility for shuttle driving duties such as safely transporting customers around the facility, assisting passengers with mobility challenges, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and adhering strictly to traffic laws and internal protocols. Additionally, valet attendant responsibilities encompass greeting customers, assisting with vehicle access and departure, managing vehicle documentation and financial transactions, and maintaining a clean and orderly valet area. The valet greeter component focuses on welcoming guests, providing assistance, and ensuring a tidy and safe entry zone. \n\nSafety, quality, and efficiency are paramount in this role as OhioHealth prioritizes its status as a High Reliability Organization (HRO). Employees are expected to demonstrate competency in basic driving safety and customer service, supporting the hospital's mission and core values. This full-time, day-shift position requires a valid driver's license, a low-risk driving record, and preferably, experience in customer service and handling standard transmission vehicles. Job Requirements
- No degree or diploma required
- valid driver's license from department of motor vehicles
- driving record with 4 points or less
- ability to drive standard transmission vehicle
- 2 years customer service experience
- ability to complete OhioHealth's driving safety and vehicle training within 90 days

Job Duties
- Greet all customers boarding the shuttle, provide friendly, professional service
- safely drive customers to their destination, keeping in mind their comfort and all applicable traffic laws
- complete all documentation, log sheets, vehicle checklist, accident reporting, mileage tracking, defect tracking, report all maintenance concerns and any damage or accident before the end of shift
- use appropriate techniques to assist customers with mobility issues including wheelchair lift and tie-downs
- keep shuttles clean
- follow all driver expectations such as 2 minute wait and shuttle bus stops
- cover as needed in other parking functions including office, shuttle, booth or maintenance
- greet the customer, proactively approach the customer to discover what assistance they need, assist customer in finding their way to their desired location
- assist the customer out of their vehicle if necessary
- safely park customers’ vehicles in appropriate parking location after pre-checking vehicle for damages, record any pre-existing damages, safely return vehicles to owners when appropriate
- track all vehicles with valet lot sheet and valet claim tickets, include all information in both documents
- keep entry areas clear of parked vehicles and valet entry areas clean
- monitor valet areas for smokers and ask all smoking visitors to move to another location off hospital property
- record and track all financial transactions including receiving vouchers or payment for valet services as well as refunding customers for PIL payments
- cover as needed in other parking functions including office, shuttle, booth or maintenance
