The position available is for a Parking Attendant who will play a critical role in supporting the daily parking operations on campus. This is an essential, on-site role that ensures the safe, organized, and accessible parking environment for visitors, staff, and students. The attendant’s responsibilities include monitoring parking areas, enforcing regulations, assisting customers with directions and information, and contributing to an efficient and customer-focused parking experience. The role demands a candidate who is reliable, attentive to detail, and dedicated to maintaining smooth parking operations while communicating courteously and professionally with a broad range of individuals. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working outdoors, responsive to parking issues, capable of performing basic troubleshooting or reporting maintenance needs, and willing to provide assistance during busy periods and special events. Familiarity with parking equipment is advantageous but not mandatory.

Job Requirements

  • No formal education required
  • six months of related experience such as customer service, working at a university, parking, transportation, or light maintenance
  • valid Texas driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days with no more than three moving violations in the last 36 months and no DWI or DUI citations
  • must be able to speak and understand basic English
  • good interpersonal skills
  • ability to work as part of a team
  • courteous communication
  • ability to follow instructions
  • actively looks for ways to help people

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Keeps parking areas clean and orderly to ensure that space usage is maximized
  • directs motorists to parking areas or parking spaces, using hand signals or flashlights as necessary
  • patrols parking areas to prevent vehicle damage and vehicle or property theft
  • calculates parking charges when equipment is not working and collects fees from customers
  • lifts, positions, and removes barricades to open or close parking areas
  • provides direction and assistance to visitors as needed
  • may, at times, be asked to lead other attendants, students, and/or event staff
  • performs all other duties as assigned
