Job Description
ABM (NYSE: ABM) stands as one of the world’s foremost providers of facility services and solutions, offering a comprehensive range of essential and forward-looking services that enhance the spaces and places most crucial to communities and businesses alike. Founded in 1909, ABM has grown into a globally recognized enterprise, with over 100,000 team members and operations spread across more than 350 offices in the United States, United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, and other international locations. With annual revenues approaching $8 billion, ABM’s expertise spans varied sectors including commercial office buildings, universities, airports, hospitals, data centers, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, entertainment venues, and more. The company is committed to fostering a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable world through its diverse service offerings, which include janitorial, engineering, parking, electrical and lighting, energy and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, HVAC, mechanical, landscape and turf management, as well as critical mission services.
ABM’s commitment extends beyond service excellence to encompass diversity, inclusion, and accessibility, exemplified by its stature as a military-friendly employer and its proactive approach to providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities. The company proudly supports veterans and candidates with military experience by offering access to world-class training and a multitude of career paths across frontline and professional positions. ABM is dedicated to equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or any other legally protected status.
The Parking Attendant role at ABM represents an excellent opportunity for individuals who are reliable and have an aptitude for customer service, particularly those entering or re-entering the workforce with limited prior experience. This position involves responsibility for cash and electronic transactions with parking customers, ensuring smooth, efficient, and friendly interactions that reflect the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction. The role offers a competitive pay rate starting at $18.00 per hour and requires weekend availability, making it ideal for candidates seeking flexible, part-time employment.
Parking Attendants at ABM are the frontline ambassadors of the company’s parking services. They greet and assist patrons in a warm, professional manner, providing accurate information, processing transactions according to the parking rate schedule, issuing or collecting visitor parking tickets, and responsibly managing funds and receipts. The job demands attentiveness to detail when completing lost ticket forms, reconciling cashier drawers, and performing revenue drops in compliance with company procedures. Maintaining a clean, safe work environment and adhering to safety regulations are integral, as is promptly handling customer inquiries and escalating issues to shift leads or Operations Managers where necessary.
This role is suitable for individuals who are at least 18 years old, require no formal educational qualifications, and benefit from on-the-job training and support. While prior experience is not necessary, having at least one year of similar experience is preferred but not mandatory. The position embodies ABM’s philosophy of nurturing talent from diverse backgrounds including those with military occupational specialties relevant to the role. Additional incentives include the opportunity to be part of a supportive team in a company that values integrity, respect, and professionalism. Comprehensive benefit information is available through ABM’s Employee Benefits portal for frontline team members, highlighting the company’s dedication to employee well-being and job satisfaction.
