Job Description
Moonlight Stage Productions is a renowned program operated by the City of Vista's Recreation and Community Services Department within the Cultural Arts Division. Known for its vibrant and diverse range of theatrical events, Moonlight Stage Productions offers community members exceptional live entertainment experiences in an outdoor amphitheater setting. As a significant cultural hub in the region, the organization promotes community engagement through arts while supporting and showcasing local talent throughout its seasonal programs. The City of Vista ensures that all employees are part-time, temporary team members who contribute directly to the success of these exciting public events. The organization values professionalism, customer service, and public safety, striving to maintain a welcoming and orderly environment for all patrons and participants at their events.
The Parking Attendant role at Moonlight Amphitheatre is a vital position responsible for facilitating a smooth and safe parking experience for patrons attending various Moonlight events. Working directly under the VisTix Ticket Office Manager and the House Manager, the parking attendant manages several parking areas, including the main and overflow parking lots as well as the specialized backstage parking lot. The role centers on directing vehicular traffic, assisting guests with parking, ensuring access control for authorized personnel, and enforcing event policies. This position requires keen attention to detail and the ability to multi-task successfully in fast-paced environments, especially during live performances. The attendant’s responsibilities include organizing nightly cone setups and maintaining the safety and accessibility of backstage and public parking zones throughout performances.
This employment opportunity is part-time and seasonal, with a commitment period from June through October. The schedule is flexible but requires availability on weekends, evenings, and holidays as necessitated by the production calendar. Physical demands include the ability to lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds and remain active during shifts. Key aspects of the job also involve strong interpersonal skills to engage with guests, sponsors, and special guests courteously and professionally. The City of Vista provides workers' compensation insurance to all employees, along with a retirement contribution plan through MissionSquare or CalPERS, depending on membership.
