Job Description
Moonlight Stage Productions, a well-known program under the City of Vista's Recreation and Community Services Department - Cultural Arts Division, offers diverse cultural and artistic events at the Moonlight Amphitheater located at 1250 Vale Terrace Drive, Vista, California. The City of Vista prides itself on offering community-focused, high-quality recreational and cultural programming, allowing residents and visitors to experience exceptional entertainment and community engagement in a welcoming and professional atmosphere. Known for its scenic outdoor venue and high-caliber productions, the Moonlight Amphitheater is a regional highlight offering a variety of performances that attract a broad audience every season.
For the upcoming season, Moonlight Stage Productions is hiring for the position of Parking Attendant on a seasonal basis. This role is part-time and offers an hourly wage ranging from $17.54 to $19.86. The selected candidate will work under the guidance of the VisTix Ticket Office Manager and the House Manager. The Parking Attendant plays a critical role in ensuring a smooth and safe parking experience for patrons attending events. This entails overseeing parking lot traffic, monitoring backstage parking areas, managing entrances and exits for performers and special guests, and enforcing house rules and policies. The position is essential for maintaining the orderly and secure operation of all parking facilities during events, including the main parking lot, overflow lot, and backstage parking.
Duties include managing vehicular flow efficiently to prevent congestion and assist patrons with event and parking information, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring security measures by controlling access to restricted areas. The role requires physical engagement such as setting up cones and barricades for parking management and interacting courteously and professionally with patrons, sponsors, cast, and crew. This position demands reliability and flexibility, as the work schedule covers weekends, evenings, and holidays during the event season from June through October, without vacation leave during this period.
In addition to providing a vital service to event attendees, the Parking Attendant represents the City of Vista and its cultural programs, contributing significantly to the community’s positive entertainment experience. The City offers workers' compensation insurance and a retirement plan requiring employee contributions. Applicants are expected to be at least 18 years of age with a valid California ID or driver’s license and must understand and agree to follow the employment terms and policies strictly. The role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and maintain professional interactions under potentially busy or stressful conditions.
This seasonal opportunity is perfect for individuals who enjoy working in lively event environments and who take pride in delivering outstanding service and safety oversight. If you are proactive, customer-oriented, and enjoy working in a collaborative team setting, this job offers a valuable chance to engage with the community and join a respected municipal arts program during its vibrant summer season.
