The role of the Parking & Lot Attendant is pivotal within V2X’s Installation Materiel Maintenance Division Compound. This full-time position is responsible for overseeing the daily operational activities associated with the entrance and exit gates of the compound, ensuring only authorized access and proper parking lot management. The attendant controls access to the compound and monitors the authorized usage of parking spaces, acting as a critical point of security and order. They address parking-related issues by referring concerns to the appropriate authorities and maintain detailed records of equipment and visitor entries and exits. Beginning and ending each workday, the attendant is tasked with unlocking and securing the main gates and perimeter doors to the facility, walking the compound to verify all entry points are locked, and ensuring visitors and their vehicles have left the premises.
In addition to gate security, this role encompasses supporting the cleanliness and upkeep of the compound and facilities, including daily cleaning of the guard shack and policing customer and employee parking areas of debris and trash. The attendant may be required to perform physical tasks such as moving plastic barrier cones multiple times during shifts to manage parking flow. Maintaining the integrity of designated customer parking spaces is essential, providing exclusive areas for customers' use only. The attendant also interacts respectfully with visitors and customers, directing them to the appropriate personnel or locations on the compound to facilitate smooth operations.
This position exposes workers to varied environmental conditions, including extreme heat and cold, with activities occurring both indoors and outdoors without effective weather protection. The attendant should be physically capable of walking on uneven ground for 6 to 8 hours and performing medium exertion tasks requiring moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally. Protective personal equipment such as face masks, head, foot, hand, vision, and hearing protection, along with reflective vests, is required in certain areas, emphasizing safety in this role.
The Parking & Lot Attendant must possess strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, and maintain high standards of accuracy. Familiarity with standard office equipment and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, are necessary to maintain documentation related to vehicle issuance, storage containers, and various equipment transactions. High ethical standards, professionalism, and the capacity to work independently or collaboratively in a team setting are fundamental. Candidates should demonstrate an ability to perform well under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and communicate effectively with customers and visitors to uphold V2X’s commitment to excellence and customer service.
