Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in planning, engineering, recreation management, or closely related field
- Two years of progressively responsible supervisory experience as a Park Ranger in municipal parking systems, security personnel, military personnel, civic law enforcement, parking attendant, or related experience
- One year of professional experience securing resolution of customer or citizen complaints and program evaluation
- Possess or obtain within fourteen days of hire and maintain a valid Florida driver's license
- Possess or obtain within six months of hire and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification
- Possess or obtain within fourteen days of hire and maintain a valid Parking Enforcement Certification
- Possess or obtain within twelve months of hire and maintain Crowd Management Certification
- Possess or obtain within twelve months of hire a Certified Administrator of Public Parking (CAPP) designation
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Planning, Engineering, Recreation Management, or related field
- Two years of supervisory experience in municipal parking systems, security, or related fields
- One year of experience resolving customer complaints and evaluating programs
- Valid Florida driver's license or ability to obtain within 14 days
- CPR/First Aid Certification obtained within 6 months
- Parking Enforcement Certification obtained within 14 days
- Crowd Management Certification obtained within 12 months
- Certified Administrator of Public Parking designation within 12 months
- Strong knowledge of city codes, regulations, and ordinances
- Skilled in conflict resolution and multi-tasking
- Ability to lead, train, and develop staff
- Proficient in data analysis, report writing, and public communication
Job Duties
- Oversee the work and activities of Park Rangers
- Participate in hiring process for Park Rangers
- Monitor permitted use in parks and enforce parking regulations
- Maintain communication with public, Police, and Fire departments
- Develop security, safety, and operational plans for parks and parking areas
- Investigate incidents including property damage and vandalism
- Manage parking permit systems, fee collections, and citation appeals
- Analyze parking and traffic data to recommend improvements
- Prepare reports, RFPs, and participate in vendor contract oversight
- Coordinate crowd control and safety for city-sponsored events
