Job Description
Transdev is a global leader in mobility solutions, operating in 19 countries with a workforce of over 110,000 team members dedicated to providing safe, reliable, and innovative transportation services. In the United States alone, Transdev employs around 32,000 professionals across 400 locations, managing a fleet of more than 17,000 vehicles. The company partners with cities, counties, airports, businesses, and universities to operate and maintain transportation systems that serve communities and enhance mobility options for everyday travelers. As a mobility company driven by a strong purpose, Transdev empowers individuals by ensuring their freedom to move through high-quality transit services that emphasize safety, professionalism, and customer satisfaction.
At the Lakewood, WA location, Transdev is seeking an experienced Non-CDL Shuttle Driver to join their elite team. This full-time position operates under a Collective Bargaining Agreement and offers competitive pay starting at $22.05 an hour, with scheduled progression up to $27.00 per hour over five years. The first pay increase occurs six months after the start date, raising the wage to $22.82. Transdev provides a generous benefits package that includes vacation accrual of up to 80 hours annually after one year of service, nine paid holidays following a six-month probation period, paid sick leave accrued at one hour per every 40 hours worked after 90 days of employment, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans along with life insurance and 401(k) retirement benefits, all available to full-time employees after 90 calendar days.
The Non-CDL Shuttle Driver role is central to ensuring the efficient, safe, and comfortable transportation of passengers. The driver is responsible for meticulously following designated routes and adhering to strict schedules to provide flawless, safety-focused operations. Exceptional customer service is paramount, as drivers assist passengers with boarding, deliver smooth rides, and ensure timely and safe disembarkation. Vehicle safety and maintenance are also critical responsibilities, including performing thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, promptly reporting issues, and maintaining cleanliness and readiness of safety equipment on the shuttle.
Additionally, the driver must consistently uphold company policies and procedures, which cover seat belt enforcement, maintaining emergency response preparedness, and complying with all relevant regulatory mandates. This role involves working in various weather conditions, frequently sitting for extended periods, and occasionally performing physical tasks such as pushing or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds and navigating uneven or slippery surfaces. Flexibility to work varying shifts and a commitment to passing all required drug and physical tests as per Department of Transportation regulations are also essential.
Transdev is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities and actively promotes equal employment opportunities without discrimination. The company maintains a drug-free workplace culture and requires candidates to be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship and to successfully pass pre-employment screenings.
This opportunity is ideal for individuals seeking a stable, rewarding career in transportation where they can contribute to community mobility solutions while benefiting from strong union support, competitive wages, and comprehensive benefits. Join Transdev’s team and be part of a company that truly values its employees and their role in empowering the freedom to move every day.
