Job Requirements

  • High school/GED degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date
  • Minimum of one year field experience with an EMS agency as a paramedic
  • Current National Registry of EMTs certification as a Paramedic
  • Current Oklahoma Paramedic license
  • AHA BLS Provider or equivalent training approved by the paramedicine program
  • AHA ACLS Provider or equivalent training approved by the paramedicine program
  • AHA PALS/PEPP Provider or equivalent training approved by the paramedicine program

Job Qualifications

  • High school/GED
  • Minimum of one year field experience with an EMS agency as a paramedic

  • Current Oklahoma Paramedic license
  • AHA BLS Provider or equivalent training approved by the paramedicine program
  • AHA ACLS Provider or equivalent training approved by the paramedicine program
  • AHA PALS/PEPP Provider or equivalent training approved by the paramedicine program
  • Ability to educate and assist students with learning of the various skills necessary for paramedicine education
  • Ability to evaluate student performance
  • Ability to conduct formative and summative assessment of student learning
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive learning environment displaying and requiring professionalism in all clinical activities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with EMS agency representatives on meeting program goals and learning outcomes
  • Ability to multitask and coordinate multiple students in the clinical setting
  • Ability to adapt and apply laboratory methods practices and techniques
  • Ability to follow health and safety procedures and regulations
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision
  • Communication skills including verbal and written communication in clear grammatically correct English
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate diplomatically clearly and effectively verbally and in writing to exchange information give/receive instructions and respond to inquiries appropriately with all students faculty staff and community partners
  • High degree of initiative to work independently and also collaborate in a team environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of office technologies including but not limited to office computers fax machines scanners internet Microsoft Office Word Excel Access PowerPoint Outlook
  • Passion for assisting customers and representing the OSU-OKC and OSU brand with positivity and professionalism
  • Demonstrated history of ethical and professional behavior
  • Associate's degree
  • Previous teaching experience or field training
  • Experience in education technology simulation technology or related area
  • Familiarity with Emergency Medical Responder Emergency Medical Technician Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic registry skill and practices
  • AHA BLS Instructor
  • AHA ACLS Instructor
  • AHA PALS/PEPP Instructor
  • PHTLS Provider

Job Duties

  • Participates in the clinical instruction of EMT and paramedic students
  • Function under the direction of the Paramedicine Program Director
  • Complete student evaluations in a timely manner
  • Provide assignments in clinical setting
  • Ensure students are meeting their minimum clinical competencies
  • Provide leadership and positive role modeling for students
  • May be required to assist in test question writing and evaluation during clinical shift
  • Attend annual program meeting
  • Completes all mandatory training
  • Perform other duties as assigned
