Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Licensed or certified in the state of assignment as EMT-Paramedic
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy
- Completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Minimum two years clinical or hospital experience
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent including graduation from a recognized nursing program
- Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment as EMT-Paramedic
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Minimum two years of clinical or hospital setting experience
- Knowledge of plasma collection industry regulations and manufacturing environment practices
Job Duties
- Determine donor eligibility including consent management, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE)
- Evaluate and manage donor reactions as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Follow SOPs for medical emergencies, develop Center Physician's standing orders, and coordinate donor transport to emergency care as needed
- Consult Center Physician or Medical Affairs on unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues related to donor safety and eligibility
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
- Manage employee incidents and evaluate necessity for further occupational health or emergency room evaluation
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting pandemic investigations as directed by Environmental Health and Safety or Medical Affairs
