Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
  • Licensed or certified in the state of assignment as EMT-Paramedic
  • Current CPR and AED certification
  • Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy
  • Completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
  • Minimum two years clinical or hospital experience

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent including graduation from a recognized nursing program
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment as EMT-Paramedic
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
  • Completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
  • Minimum two years of clinical or hospital setting experience
  • Knowledge of plasma collection industry regulations and manufacturing environment practices

Job Duties

  • Determine donor eligibility including consent management, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE)
  • Evaluate and manage donor reactions as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Follow SOPs for medical emergencies, develop Center Physician's standing orders, and coordinate donor transport to emergency care as needed
  • Consult Center Physician or Medical Affairs on unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues related to donor safety and eligibility
  • Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
  • Manage employee incidents and evaluate necessity for further occupational health or emergency room evaluation
  • Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting pandemic investigations as directed by Environmental Health and Safety or Medical Affairs
