Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • graduate equivalent of recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
  • currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned as EMT-Paramedic
  • current CPR and AED certification
  • fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
  • complete FDA approved training for Medical Support Specialist
  • two years clinical or hospital experience

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent, graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements
  • currently licensed or certified EMT-Paramedic
  • current CPR and AED certification
  • fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
  • satisfactorily complete FDA approved training for Medical Support Specialist
  • two years clinical or hospital experience

Job Duties

  • determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis
  • evaluate donor reactions occurring at the facility and manage medical emergencies according to SOPs
  • refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings and medical guidance
  • support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
  • manage employee incidents with referrals to occupational health or emergency services
  • act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and support pandemic investigations as required by EHS or Medical Affairs
