Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent including graduation from a recognized nursing program with state requirements
- current licensure or certification in the state of assignment as EMT-Paramedic
- current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- state requirements fulfilled for basic IV therapy
- completion of FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- two years of clinical or hospital experience
Job Qualifications

- currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment as EMT-Paramedic
- current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy
- completion of FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- two years of clinical or hospital setting experience
Job Duties
- determine donor eligibility including management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis
- evaluate donor reactions according to standard operating procedures
- manage medical emergencies following SOPs and facilitate donor transport to emergency care facilities
- refer medical or technical issues to Center Physician or Medical Affairs including donor safety and eligibility guidance
- support employee vaccination programs including Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu
- manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation by occupational health or emergency room
- act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by environmental health and safety and support investigations related to pandemic threats
