Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- current EMT-Paramedic license or certification in state of assignment
- current CPR and AED certification
- state requirements for basic IV therapy
- completion of FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training
- minimum two years clinical or hospital experience
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of recognized nursing program
- currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment (EMT-Paramedic)
- current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) certification
- completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- two years clinical or hospital setting experience
Job Duties
- determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and serological protein electrophoresis (SPE)
- evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- refer donors to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues
- support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
- manage employee health incidents and refer for further evaluation when necessary
- follow environmental, health and safety (EHS) protocols and support pandemic investigations when authorized
