Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Three years ambulance/transport experience as primary attendant clinically caring for patients in pre-hospital setting
- One year hospital experience preferred
- State license EMT-P or LP or EMT-P
- Valid driver's license
- Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Instructor (AHA)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support or Instructor (AHA) within 3 months
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or Instructor (CPI) within 6 months
- Demonstrated skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job
- Proficiency in English language for speaking, reading, and writing
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers
- Knowledge of ambulance's equipment and proper use
- Familiarity with clinical protocols and safety policies
- Ability to exercise independence and judgment with healthcare team and patients
- Strong time management and problem-solving abilities
- Competent computer knowledge with electronic health records

- Demonstrated skills and competencies to safely perform assigned job
- Proficiency in English speaking, reading, and writing
- Effective communication with patients, physicians, family, and co-workers
- Knowledge of ambulance equipment and clinical protocols
- Ability to exercise judgment and independence in clinical interactions
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Competent computer knowledge including electronic health records operation
Job Duties
- Provides safe and efficient transfer of patients and patient care information to receiving personnel
- Collaborates with interprofessional team members by communicating and reporting pertinent patient care information timely
- Interacts respectfully with peers, staff, and physicians and mentors new paramedics and EMT personnel
- Provides direct patient care under physician direction and documents care administered, treatments, and procedures
- Conducts careful patient examinations for signs and symptoms of illness or injury and assists other medical personnel
- Administers basic and advanced life support care promptly and efficiently prior to and during transport
- Conducts regular ambulance inventory and equipment testing to ensure readiness and cleanliness
- Documents all aspects of patient condition and treatment on care records and maintains patient privacy
- Operates and drives the ambulance safely and efficiently following hospital driving policies
- Uses resources efficiently and assists with patient and staffing needs across the service line or hospital
- Develops team members' skills, participates in performance improvement projects, and completes individual development plans
