Job Requirements

  • One year of experience in the field of rescue and emergency medical services
  • compliance with all applicable licensure and certification requirements of home location
  • willingness and ability to deploy to a Theater of Operation for a minimum of 30 days with minimal notice
  • ability to work under rudimentary conditions including shelter, food, power, and equipment
  • adherence to MedicOne Medical Response and GMR/FEMA policies including prohibition on alcohol and inappropriate behavior during deployments
  • agreement to terms of Deployment FAQ and Instructions Guide
  • availability to wear EMS uniform at all times during missions
  • participation in company privacy training and upholding privacy policies
  • ability to safely operate emergency vehicles and perform life-saving operations

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • successful completion of AEMT course of study
  • current state issued driver’s license
  • must be 21 years of age or older
  • current state paramedic certification/license
  • current ACLS certification
  • BLS/CPR card
  • EVOC or CEVO certification
  • Hazmat Awareness certification
  • Hepatitis B immunization record
  • FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 certifications
  • COVID-19 vaccination (may be preferred on some assignments)

Job Duties

  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls calmly, efficiently and effectively administer basic life support to patients at the scene, as stated by protocol, enroute to the hospital, and in a pre-hospital setting, in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and MedicOne standards
  • assess the nature and extent of injury or illness to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed
  • rescue victims of accidents, sudden illness or entrapment using proper rescue and medical techniques
  • communicate with professional medical personnel and treatment facilities to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and/or to arrange reception of patients to the appropriate center
  • maintain order at scenes, including crowd disbursement and restraint of family and friends
  • complete patient care forms, insurance forms, evaluation forms, and all other forms in a competent and timely fashion
  • protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with company privacy policies and laws
  • respond to instructions from a dispatcher, task force and/or strike team leader and navigate specially equipped emergency vehicles to specified locations safely
  • ensure vehicles are in good working condition, properly maintained, and stocked with necessary equipment
  • clean, organize and restock vehicles after each transport
  • handle telephone communications professionally and maintain contact with dispatch and team leaders
  • perform life-saving operations
  • check, restock, inventory, and clean vehicles operated by MedicOne Medical Response
  • represent the ambulance service at public service functions and provide ambulance stand-by services at various events
  • perform any other duties as designated by management
