Job Requirements
- One year of experience in the field of rescue and emergency medical services
- compliance with all applicable licensure and certification requirements of home location
- willingness and ability to deploy to a Theater of Operation for a minimum of 30 days with minimal notice
- ability to work under rudimentary conditions including shelter, food, power, and equipment
- adherence to MedicOne Medical Response and GMR/FEMA policies including prohibition on alcohol and inappropriate behavior during deployments
- agreement to terms of Deployment FAQ and Instructions Guide
- availability to wear EMS uniform at all times during missions
- participation in company privacy training and upholding privacy policies
- ability to safely operate emergency vehicles and perform life-saving operations
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- successful completion of AEMT course of study
- current state issued driver’s license
- must be 21 years of age or older
- current state paramedic certification/license
- current ACLS certification
- BLS/CPR card
- EVOC or CEVO certification
- Hazmat Awareness certification
- Hepatitis B immunization record
- FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 certifications
- COVID-19 vaccination (may be preferred on some assignments)
Job Duties
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls calmly, efficiently and effectively administer basic life support to patients at the scene, as stated by protocol, enroute to the hospital, and in a pre-hospital setting, in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and MedicOne standards
- assess the nature and extent of injury or illness to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed
- rescue victims of accidents, sudden illness or entrapment using proper rescue and medical techniques
- communicate with professional medical personnel and treatment facilities to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and/or to arrange reception of patients to the appropriate center
- maintain order at scenes, including crowd disbursement and restraint of family and friends
- complete patient care forms, insurance forms, evaluation forms, and all other forms in a competent and timely fashion
- protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with company privacy policies and laws
- respond to instructions from a dispatcher, task force and/or strike team leader and navigate specially equipped emergency vehicles to specified locations safely
- ensure vehicles are in good working condition, properly maintained, and stocked with necessary equipment
- clean, organize and restock vehicles after each transport
- handle telephone communications professionally and maintain contact with dispatch and team leaders
- perform life-saving operations
- check, restock, inventory, and clean vehicles operated by MedicOne Medical Response
- represent the ambulance service at public service functions and provide ambulance stand-by services at various events
- perform any other duties as designated by management
