Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- current EMT-Paramedic license or certification in state of assignment
- current CPR and AED certification
- meet state requirements for basic IV therapy
- complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- minimum two years clinical or hospital setting experience
- ability to comply with plasma collection industry regulations and safety protocols
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of recognized nursing program
- current state licensure or certification as EMT-Paramedic
- current CPR and AED certification
- meet state requirements for basic IV therapy
- completion of FDA approved training for Medical Support Specialist at BioLife
- two years clinical or hospital experience
- familiarity with plasma collection regulations and manufacturing environment
- ability to support center operations and environmental health and safety requirements
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical exam, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis
- evaluate and manage donor reactions at the facility following SOPs including medical emergencies and donor transport
- refer medical or technical issues to Center Physician or Medical Affairs
- support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
- manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation
- act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting pandemic investigations as required
- follow guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs and support environmental, health, and safety protocols
