Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
  • Currently licensed or certified as EMT-Paramedic in the state of assignment
  • Current CPR and AED certification
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
  • Completion of FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
  • Minimum two years experience in a clinical or hospital setting

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned as EMT-Paramedic
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy in the state of licensure
  • Satisfactorily complete the FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
  • Minimum two years in a clinical or hospital setting experience

Job Duties

  • Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of laboratory results
  • Evaluate donor reactions occurring at the facility and follow SOPs for medical emergencies
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical issues
  • Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees
  • Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required, referring to Environmental, Health and Safety guidance
  • Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and support pandemic threat investigations
  • Follow guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs and provide center-level support for environmental, health and safety compliance
