Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified as EMT-Paramedic in the state of assignment
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
- Completion of FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Minimum two years experience in a clinical or hospital setting
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned as EMT-Paramedic
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy in the state of licensure
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Minimum two years in a clinical or hospital setting experience
Job Duties
- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of laboratory results
- Evaluate donor reactions occurring at the facility and follow SOPs for medical emergencies
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical issues
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees
- Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required, referring to Environmental, Health and Safety guidance
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and support pandemic threat investigations
- Follow guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs and provide center-level support for environmental, health and safety compliance
