Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • graduate of an EMT-P training course approved under Arizona 9 A.A.C. 25, Articles 2, 4, and 5
  • advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification
  • basic life support (BLS) certification
  • pediatric advanced life support (PALS) certification within 180 days
  • ADHS paramedic certification or Arizona state certified

Job Duties

  • provides and collaborates direct patient care services under supervision
  • responsible for personal care and activities of daily living
  • monitors vital signs and intake and output
  • assists with IV initiation and phlebotomy
  • performs eye irrigation and urinary catheterization
  • administers medications under licensed personnel supervision
  • assists with patient transport and maintains safe environment
  • observes and reports changes in patient condition
  • documents medical records accurately
  • supports patient education under direction of licensed personnel
  • addresses questions or concerns from patients and healthcare team
  • answers patch phone after training
  • performs other duties as assigned
