Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • two or more years of driving experience
  • ability to communicate and understand English verbally and in writing
  • possession and maintenance of current certifications and licensures as required
  • commitment to ongoing professional development and training
  • adherence to company policies and procedures
  • capability to work various shifts and flexible schedules

Job Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Paramedic program
  • current EMT-P certification
  • valid California driver’s license
  • CPR certification through the American Heart Association (instructor-based with AED)
  • PALS or PHTLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • California Ambulance Driver Certificate (DL 61)
  • Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DL51)
  • current in local, state and federally mandated training
  • maintain current industry standards through continuing education
  • completed all mandatory training including mandatory testing
  • FEMA certifications as required
  • other state or county certifications as required

Job Duties

  • Respond to BLS, ALS, and CCT emergent and non-emergent transports and scene calls
  • provide high quality, routine and emergent basic and advanced life support, in accordance with CA Title 22, local scope of practice and PT-1 policy
  • work collaboratively with EMTs and clinical staff to ensure patient safety and comfort
  • maintain patient care documentation accurately and timely
  • comply with all local, state, and federal regulations related to emergency medical services
  • participate in continuing education and training sessions to maintain certifications
  • perform routine ambulance and equipment checks to ensure operational readiness
