Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- State of California Paramedic License
- CPR certification from AHA (Health Care Provider)
- ACLS certification from AHA
- PALS certification from AHA or PEPP
- Valid ambulance driver’s license issued by DMV
- Medical examiner’s card
- Valid California Driver’s License
- Driving record complying with McCormick/AMR Safety and Driving policy
- Completion of ICS courses IS-100B, IS-200B, IS-700A, IS-800B
- Ability to upload all active required documents on application
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- State of California Paramedic License

- ACLS Card (AHA only, no handwritten cards)
- PALS Card (AHA only) or PEPP
- Ambulance Driver’s License from DMV
- Medical Examiner’s Card
- Driving record in compliance with McCormick/AMR Safety and Driving policy
- Completion of ICS courses IS-100B, IS-200B, IS-700A, IS-800B
Job Duties
- Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols
- Utilize paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care
- Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given
- Act as paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed
- Drive the ambulance on 911 responses
- Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as fellow paramedics
