Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Nationally registered paramedic certification
- Oklahoma State Licensure at the paramedic level
- Current BLS certification or within 30 days of hire
- Current ACLS and PALS certification within 60 days of hire
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Capability to work full-time night shift 7 PM to 7 AM
- Physical ability to meet the demands of the role including potential exposure to infectious diseases and physically strenuous activities
- Willingness to adhere to patient safety protocols and infection control measures
Job Qualifications
- Nationally registered paramedic certification
- Oklahoma State Licensure at the paramedic level
- Current BLS certification or within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter
- Current ACLS and PALS certification within 60 days of hire and annually thereafter
- Preferred two years of 911 EMS experience
- Effective communication skills in English both verbal and written
Job Duties
- Administers a variety of patient care tasks and special procedures utilizing unique skills and training
- Assists with patient safety issues such as presence of identification arm band, adherence to patient fall protocol and use of restraints
- Operates a variety of equipment requiring knowledge, skills, training unique to critical care patients
- Performs various procedures including triage, peripheral IV starts, phlebotomy, EKG, specimen collection, obtaining vital signs, cardiac monitoring, splinting, transporting patients within the hospital, reports and documents all relevant patient information to nursing staff
- May retrieve and transport medications
- Administers ACLS medication and protocol under the direction of the Physician, administers patient medication per policy
- Maintains unit cleanliness including daily cleaning of carriers with disinfectant, stocking exam rooms and linens throughout the shift
