Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months of hire
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation certification within 12 months of hire
- The S.T.A.B.L.E Program certification within 12 months of hire
- Driver's license obtained prior to hire
- Emergency Medical Tech specializing in ER Vehicle Operation certification within 12 months of hire
- Paramedic credential from Indiana Department of Homeland Security
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months of hire
- Certified Prehospital Trauma Life Support obtained within 12 months of hire
- Minimum three years of experience in Emergency Medical Services
- Paramedic specializing in Critical Care credential or Flight Paramedic Certification within 24 months of hire
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree
- Three years of experience in emergency medical services
- Preferred five years of experience in emergency medical services
- Advanced Life Support certification within 6 months of hire
- BLS provider certification within 1 month of hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation certification within 12 months of hire
- The S.T.A.B.L.E Program certification within 12 months of hire
- Indiana driver's license
- Emergency Medical Tech specializing in ER Vehicle Operation certification within 12 months of hire
- Paramedic credential from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification within 6 months of hire
- Certified Prehospital Trauma Life Support within 12 months of hire
- Paramedic specializing in Critical Care certification within 24 months of hire or Flight Paramedic certification within 24 months of hire
Job Duties
- Identifies, intervenes, and stabilizes the ill or injured patient during interfacility and intrafacility transport as part of the team
- Initiates and implements interventions based on transport protocols
- Monitors, records and communicates patient condition and treatment
- Contacts receiving medical personnel, reports observations, and follows directives
- Inspects, maintains and cares for equipment to ensure safety
- May drive ambulance to transport patients and/or supplies
- Complies with Air Medical Vendor limitations and physical requirements
