Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with 2 years of experience or Associate's degree or Technical degree required
  • Minimum three years of experience in Emergency Medical Services
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months of hire date or job transfer date American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics obtained within 12 months of hire date or job transfer date
  • Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program obtained within 12 months of hire date or job transfer date
  • Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
  • Emergency Medical Tech specializing in ER Vehicle Operation credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained within 12 months of hire date or job transfer date Emergency Vehicle Operator Course or Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator credentialed from Coaching Systems
  • Paramedic credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months of hire date or job transfer date American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
  • Certified Prehospital Trauma Life Support obtained within 12 months of hire date or job transfer date
  • Minimum three years of experience in Emergency Medical Services
  • Paramedic specializing in Critical Care credentialed from the International Board of Specialty Certification obtained within 24 months of hire date or job transfer date preferred
  • Certified Paramedic specializing in Flight obtained within 24 months of hire date or job transfer date preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Preferred five years of experience in Emergency Medical Services

Job Duties

  • Identifies intervenes and stabilizes the ill or injured patient during interfacility and intrafacility transport as part of the transport team in collaboration with the transport physician and or Registered Nurse
  • Initiates and implements interventions based on transport team protocols
  • Monitors records and communicates patient condition and treatment as appropriate
  • Contacts receiving medical personnel reports observations and follows directives
  • Inspects maintains and cares for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team patients and public
  • May be required to drive an ambulance to transport patients and or supplies
  • Complies with the Air Medical Vendor limitations and physical requirements
