Job Requirements

  • Valid IN state driver’s license
  • State of Indiana EMT-Paramedic certification
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current PALS certification
  • Pass state of Indiana criminal background check
  • Pass Indiana BMV motor vehicle report

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Indiana state EMT-Paramedic certification
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current PALS certification
  • Experience in advanced life support and pre-hospital patient care
  • Knowledge of Indiana EMS Commission curriculum and protocols
  • Ability to operate emergency medical equipment and vehicles
  • Strong professional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Capacity to maintain patients’ dignity and provide compassionate care

Job Duties

  • Perform all skills and procedures as designed by the Indiana EMS Commission curriculum
  • satisfy requirements of Trans-Care’s Medical Direction for affiliation and clinical oversight
  • practice skills and fulfill duties within the Standard of Care Protocol and physician orders
  • follow all Trans-Care’s policies and procedures
  • respond to EMS calls as assigned by the communications center
  • operate and oversee the operation of assigned vehicle
  • treat all customers, patients, employees, and vendors with honesty and respect
  • observe patient confidentiality and protect personal health information
  • report concerns about breaches of confidentiality
  • maintain professionalism and courteous behavior at all times
  • account for and certify all required Advance Life Support equipment is functional
  • check and manage narcotics and medications on board for expiration
  • maintain in-service education as prescribed
  • operate vehicle and conduct self under laws and Trans-Care safety policies
  • submit complete, accurate, and timely documentation
  • help maintain a clean and hazard free work environment
  • precept paramedics, EMT-Basic students, and new employees
  • advise of vehicle problems needing repair
  • maintain physical fitness to perform required duties
  • perform reasonably related duties prescribed by supervisor
