- minimum High School Diploma
- NYS Advanced Emergency Technician 4 Certification
- NYC MAC certification
- NYS driver's license
- minimum 1 year EMS experience
- good interpersonal and verbal/written English communication skills
- NYS-DOH Paramedic Certification
- NYC REMAC Paramedic Certification
- ACLS certification
- BCLS certification
- PALS certification
- 911 experience preferred

Job Duties
- handle treatment and patient care responsibilities appropriate to patient ages
- treat patients following NYC and State Medical Advisory Committee guidelines
- document all medical treatments personally rendered
- prepare accurate reports and statistics
- inspect assigned ambulance daily to ensure equipment and mechanical components are functioning
- operate ambulance safely and obey traffic laws
- maintain cleanliness of vehicle and equipment
- collaborate with ambulance and ED operations during EMS disasters
- operate on-board computer and telemetry systems
- inspect, monitor and document patient medication according to NYC and State EMS and MMC Pharmacy guidelines
- utilize transport Isolette, intra-aortic balloon pump, ventilators, medication pumps, and invasive monitoring equipment during inter-facility transports
- perform invasive medical procedures including intravenous insertion, medication administration, endotracheal and esophageal intubation, nasogastric/orogastric tube insertion, defibrillation, cardioversion, needle cricothyrotomy, needle decompression, intraosseous cannulation, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
