Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current state EMT-P certification
  • Current American Heart Association CPR for the Healthcare Provider card
  • Other credentials or certifications as required by the Medical Director
  • Ability to lift, carry, and balance 100 pounds
  • Ability to exert on a regular basis 50 pounds of force and occasionally up to 100 pounds
  • Physical ability to meet company physical assessments/tests
  • Ability to work throughout entire shift without interruption
  • Ability to read English and converse in English with co-workers
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, and diagnostic form instructions
  • Ability to calculate weight and volume ratios and read small print
  • Ability to understand road maps, discern street signs and address numbers
  • Ability to document in writing with legal accuracy
  • Ability to learn and become proficient in patient care equipment
  • Ability to understand and retain instructions and execute accurately
  • Current state driver's license
  • Satisfactory driving record in accordance with Falck USA's Driving Policy
  • Successfully complete Falck SW new employee orientation program including clinical aspects
  • Obtain and maintain unrestricted Medical Director authorization as a paramedic
  • Other qualifications specific to local operation or contract
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively with employees and medical agencies
  • Ability to read and interpret required documents and write reports
  • Physical ability to perform EMT-P duties including bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting at established weights, climbing, working at heights
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must deliver outstanding customer service
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Maintain professional manner and appearance at all times
  • Within three months of employment, obtain CEVO (Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator) or Falck USA equivalent

Job Duties

  • Presents himself/herself in a professional manner and displays a good public image for the employee and Falck USA in accordance with company policy
  • Adheres to the policies and procedures of Falck USA, including the operation's Standard Operating Procedures and Medical Protocols
  • Participates and completes all daily assignments proficiently, punctually and in accordance with directives from supervisors
  • Completes appropriate documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Provides a safe environment and assesses risks to patient safety
  • Operates emergency vehicles safely at all times
  • Maintains vehicles and stations in a clean and presentable manner
  • Responds to instructions from dispatcher and drives emergency vehicles to specified locations
