Job Requirements

  • Valid Indiana state driver's license
  • State of Indiana EMT-Paramedic certification
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current PALS certification
  • Pass State of Indiana criminal background check
  • Pass Indiana BMV motor vehicle report

Job Duties

  • Perform all skills and procedures as designed by the Indiana EMS Commission curriculum
  • Meet the requirements of Trans-Care's Medical Direction for affiliation and clinical oversight
  • Practice skills and fulfill duties within the Standard of Care Protocol and physician orders
  • Know and follow all Trans-Care policies and procedures
  • Respond to EMS calls as assigned by the communications center
  • Operate and oversee assigned vehicle under Indiana state rules and Trans-Care policies
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and report any breaches
  • Be courteous and professional in all interactions
  • Certify all required Advance Life Support equipment before shifts
  • Check in, check out, and account for all narcotics and medications
  • Maintain in-service education as prescribed
  • Operate vehicle and conduct self under state laws and safety policies
  • Submit complete and accurate documentation timely
  • Perform cleaning chores to maintain a clean work environment
  • Precept Paramedics, EMT-Basic students, and new employees
  • Report vehicle problems requiring attention
  • Maintain physical fitness for job demands
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
