Job Requirements
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Possess a National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (NREMT-P) certification
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Minimum of one year general experience demonstrating effective public interaction and rule comprehension
- Ability to maintain poise and self-control under stress
- At least 21 years of age
- Maintain current physical residency in the continental U.S.
- Pass a medical exam by a licensed physician within 30 days prior to assignment
- Be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident
- Reside in the U.S. for the last five years unless on official government duty abroad
- Complete a thorough background investigation
- Possess or have the ability to obtain required security clearances
- Ability to walk unaided, jog or fast walk up to ¼ mile
- Capability to lift objects greater than 30 pounds
- Perform CPR and emergency care standing or kneeling
- Must see, hear, and smell with aids if necessary
- Ability to perform duties in stressful and austere environments without physical limitations
- Use of phone or computer for extended periods
Job Qualifications
- Possess a National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (NREMT-P) certification
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- At least one year of general experience demonstrating ability to greet and deal tactfully with the public
- Capability of understanding and applying written and verbal orders, rules, and regulations
- Good judgment, courage, alertness, and an even temperament
- Ability to maintain poise and self-control during stressful situations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in Spanish is preferred
Job Duties
- Evaluate patient's condition to properly stabilize for treatment
- Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation on patients through various techniques such as intravenous insertion, intubation and drug administration
- Determine advance medical implications of wounds to treat appropriately
- Determine proper method to stabilize patients with physical injuries such as fractures, dislocations and sprains
- Collaborate with healthcare team to facilitate appropriate medical follow-up
- Respond to medical crises ensuring timely and effective treatment
- Perform life-saving interventions in high-pressure situations
