Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma
  • NYS advanced emergency technician 4 certification
  • NYC MAC certification
  • NYS driver’s license
  • Minimum 1 year EMS experience
  • Good interpersonal and verbal/written English communication skills
  • NYS-DOH paramedic certification
  • NYC REMAC paramedic certification
  • ACLS certification
  • BCLS certification
  • PALS certification
  • 911 experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Handle treatment and patient care appropriate to patient age
  • Treat patients according to NYC and state medical advisory guidelines
  • Document and be accountable for all medical treatment rendered
  • Inspect ambulance daily to ensure equipment functionality
  • Operate ambulance safely and obey traffic laws
  • Maintain vehicle and equipment cleanliness
  • Work with ambulance and ED operations during EMS disasters
  • Operate onboard computer and telemetry units
  • Inspect, monitor, and document patient medication per EMS and pharmacy guidelines
  • Utilize advanced transport equipment during inter-facility transports
  • Perform invasive procedures like intravenous insertion, medication administration, intubation, defibrillation, cardioversion, and others based on clinical judgment
