Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age for insurance purposes
- current California Paramedic certification
- possession or ability to obtain Santa Clara County System Badge
- valid California Class C driver’s license
- valid ambulance driver’s license
- current AHA BLS certification
- current ITLS certification
- current ACLS certification
- current PALS/PEPP certification
- current TB test and immunizations (HepB, MMR, DTap, Varicella)
Job Qualifications
- Current California Paramedic certification
- possession of Santa Clara County System Badge or ability to obtain
- valid California Class C driver’s license
- ambulance driver’s license
- AHA BLS certification
- International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- PALS/PEPP certification
- experience in providing advanced life support care
- strong patient assessment and treatment skills
- effective communication skills both verbal and written
Job Duties
- Prompt and regular attendance at work
- provide quality patient care utilizing thorough knowledge and appropriate administration of paramedic standards of care
- provide basic and advanced life support to patients in accordance with County EMS Agency protocols, Royal Ambulance SOPs, and in the best interest of the patient
- assess and treat with appropriate techniques, resources and equipment, and medical situation while maintaining the highest standard of patient care and professionalism
- maintain neat and professional appearance at all times in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- maintain the ambulance and equipment in a clean, organized, and response-ready mode
- complete all patient care reports in a timely and accurate fashion as required by Santa Clara County EMS with appropriate and complete patient care documentation and billing information
- adhere to all policies and procedures provided in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Medical Operations Manual, and Code of Conduct
- maintain current state and county certifications
- maintain composure and tact in stressful situations
- communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and through radio and telephone communications
- demonstrate compassion and a sincere dedication to patient needs, concerns and information confidentiality
- attend all Continuing Medical Education (CME) courses on a monthly basis
- develop and maintain relationships with the medical community including interaction with physicians, hospitals, ERs, critical care units, cardiac cath labs, nurses, EMS, fire personnel, and local, regional and state authorities
- handle protected health information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA
- participate in company-wide events and meetings
- demonstrate and support Royal's mission, values and quality standards
- perform other duties as required
