Job Requirements
- Alaska paramedic license or willingness to obtain
- current CPR and ACLS certifications
- 3-5 years of remote and/or emergency response experience
- OSHA 30 certification
- DOT drug and alcohol collector certification
- blood borne pathogen testing
- bear guard training
- NIOSH certification
- CAOHC certification
- swiftwater rescue training
- ropes skills
- wilderness first responder certification
- ability to pass pre-employment drug testing federal panel
- ability to pass physical exam and fitness for duty assessment for remote work
- clear background check and motor vehicle report
- ability to lift 25 pounds floor to shoulder, 45 pounds floor to waist, 50 pounds floor to knuckle
- carry 45 pounds for 25 feet
- climb 6 rungs of ladder and 24 stairs
- perform physical tasks including kneeling, twisting, stooping, and squatting
- willingness to live and work in remote isolated locations in Alaska
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Provide non-emergency and emergency medical response to employees on site
- assess safety and hazards at the scene of an emergency
- control hazards at an emergency scene
- determine nature and extent of illness or injury and establish priorities for emergency care
- treat injuries or illness under supervision using advanced life support techniques and medications including airway management, intravenous therapy, defibrillation, synchronized cardioversion, medication administration, needle chest decompression, gastric and oral/tracheal suctioning, and basic life support techniques
- extricate patients from entrapment
- provide special rescue services where trained
- perform triaging and manage mass casualty situations
- complete detailed documentation on patient care and transport
- follow state and federal regulations related to EMS, confined space, hazardous materials, incident command, blood borne and airborne pathogens, and controlled substances
- maintain, clean, and restock emergency supplies and equipment
- support the health, safety, and environmental function as a helper without interfering with medical provision
