Job Requirements
- Minimum age of 21 years
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency
- Residency in the continental U.S. with the exception of official government duties abroad
- Successful completion of a thorough background investigation
- Possession or ability to obtain required security clearances
- Pass a medical examination by licensed physician within 30 days prior to assignment
- Ability to walk unaided for 5 minutes and maintain balance
- Ability to jog/fast walk up to quarter mile
- Capability to lift, push, or carry objects weighing over 30 pounds
- Ability to perform CPR/emergency care standing or kneeling
- Ability to assist sick, injured, or aging individuals requiring physical support
- Visual, auditory, and olfactory capabilities with aids if necessary
- Capability to work in stressful and austere environments without physical limitations
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods
- Manual dexterity for computer operation and phone use
Job Qualifications
- Possess National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic certification
- Hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification
- Hold current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
- At least one year of general experience demonstrating ability to interact tactfully with the public
- Ability to understand and apply written and verbal orders, rules, and regulations
- Demonstrated good judgment, courage, alertness, and even temperament
- Ability to maintain poise and self-control during stressful situations
- High school diploma or equivalent
Job Duties
- Evaluate patient's condition to properly stabilize for treatment
- Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation through various techniques such as intravenous insertion, intubation, and drug administration
- Determine advanced medical implications of wounds to treat appropriately
- Stabilize patients with physical injuries such as fractures, dislocations, and sprains
- Collaborate with healthcare team to facilitate medical follow-up
- Respond promptly and effectively to medical crises
- Maintain composure and perform duties in high-stress and austere environments
