This position is within a manufacturing company specializing in metal products, focusing on the packaging, crating, and shipping operations crucial for ensuring the safe and timely transit of goods. Job Requirements

  • ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly

Job Qualifications

  • 3+ years in packaging, shipping, or warehouse operations
  • strong background in woodworking, crate building, and use of carpentry tools and equipment
  • ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, nail guns, saws, and other power tools safely
  • knowledge of shipping regulations (domestic and international preferred)
  • strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • ability to read and follow blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • basic computer skills for shipping software, inventory systems, and documentation

Job Duties

  • Build custom wooden crates, pallets, and supports for metal products
  • read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and packaging specifications
  • repair and modify crates as needed to meet shipping requirements
  • ensure compliance with ISPM-15 and other international crating standards
  • pack products using protective materials to prevent damage
  • prepare and verify shipping documents, labels, and freight paperwork
  • coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics partners
  • track shipments and resolve shipping issues or delays
  • maintain inventory of packaging materials, lumber, and supplies
  • perform quality checks on packaging, crating, and shipping procedures
  • follow company safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work area
  • support continuous improvement efforts to increase efficiency and reduce costs
