Job Description

Towne Park is a leading hospitality services company with nearly 40 years of industry experience, dedicated to creating exceptional experiences for guests from arrival through departure. With a team of 14,000 employees, Towne Park is committed to delivering smiles by providing top-tier arrival and departure services, primarily through valet and parking management solutions. Known for their customer-centric approach, the company prides itself on upholding Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity principles, promoting a diverse workforce, and supporting applicants with disabilities and veterans. Towne Park also actively works to accommodate individuals with disabilities, ensuring inclusivity at every stage of employment. This dedication to exceptional service and inclusion reflects the company’s mission to foster unparalleled hospitality experiences.

Joining Towne Park as an Overnight Valet Attendant at the Marriott Baltimore presents an exciting opportunity for hospitality professionals who thrive in overnight roles and enjoy hands-on interaction with guests. This role involves a variety of responsibilities centered around valet operations, guest services, vehicle handling, and providing information about the property and surrounding area. The position’s base pay is $12.50 per hour plus tips, offering a predictable overnight schedule conducive to candidates seeking night shift work. This is an hourly position primarily focused on overnight shifts and offers valuable workplace benefits such as accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity insurance, telemedicine capabilities, and enrollment in a 401(k) retirement savings plan, subject to eligibility criteria tied to job classification and length of employment.

The Overnight Valet Attendant’s role is instrumental in shaping guests’ first and last impressions of the Marriott Baltimore. Valets are tasked with greeting guests warmly within five feet of interaction and using guest last names to personalize the experience, reflecting Towne Park’s emphasis on respectful and professional communication. This includes practicing proper phone etiquette, welcoming guests with the salutation of the day, and maintaining a visible presence in designated areas during downtime. The attendant is responsible for safely parking and retrieving vehicles, assisting with luggage and bell services, and opening vehicle and hotel doors, all while ensuring cautiously slow driving for safety. Additional duties include helping guests with directions, taxis, and reservations, and providing details about the hotel’s amenities, meeting spaces, and local attractions.

Handling the operational aspects of valet service is a critical part of the job. This includes explaining parking rates and vehicle retrieval procedures, issuing and collecting claim checks, and maintaining accurate records of tickets, vehicle key tags, guest folios, and damage surveys. The valet attendant must be able to calculate and collect payment when necessary, support clear communication across shifts, and assist guests efficiently and professionally. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to operate in outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold, as the work environment is largely outdoors for extended periods.

Towne Park expects the valet attendant to follow established procedures closely, make sound operational decisions consistent with departmental guidelines, and routinely have their work checked for accuracy. Despite its routine nature, the role is essential for the seamless operation of the valet service and overall guest satisfaction. Applicants should be prepared for physical challenges, including exerting significant force when moving objects, frequent standing or walking during shifts, and the ability to perform tasks such as parallel parking and potentially operating vehicles with manual transmissions.

In summary, the Overnight Valet Attendant at Towne Park working with Marriott Baltimore offers a fulfilling entry-level opportunity in hospitality services. It combines customer interaction, physical activity, and operational responsibilities within a respected company that values diversity, inclusion, and professional development. Candidates will benefit from hands-on training, predictable shifts, and a supportive work environment designed to foster career growth in the hospitality industry.
