The Store Manager acts as a key leader within the store, responsible for driving store operations to achieve financial goals and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to manage teams effectively by teaching, training, coaching, and providing feedback. The manager will be deeply involved in overseeing merchandising, inventory management, budgeting, forecasting, and operational processes that ensure seamless store performance.
In this role, the Store Manager will implement Walmart's One Best Way (OBW) service model, ensuring customer service standards are met and that all associates are aligned with company business initiatives and merchandising strategies. Job Requirements
- Two years of college or one year of retail experience plus one year of supervisory experience or two years of general work experience plus one year of supervisory experience
- Successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check and Firearms Authorized Training if applicable
- Attendance and successful completion of all job-required trainings and assessments
- Ability to work collaboratively and build trusting relationships
- Commitment to uphold company policies, ethics, and safe work environment
- Eligibility requirements for specific facilities and positions
- Willingness to support Walmart’s drug-free workplace policy
Job Qualifications
- Two years of college or one year of retail experience plus one year of supervisory experience or two years of general work experience plus one year of supervisory experience
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership preferred
- Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership preferred
- General work experience supervising five or more direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing
Job Duties
- Lead and develop teams by teaching, training, and providing feedback
- Tour stores and communicate with associates about operations and initiatives
- Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service and implement store customer service programs
- Manage financial performance including profit and loss, budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses
- Oversee merchandise presentation, inventory flow, and operational processes
- Hire, train, mentor, and develop hourly associates while promoting a culture of belonging
- Ensure compliance with company policies and uphold Walmart's mission, values, and ethical standards
