Job Description
This opportunity is with a hospitality establishment focused on providing impeccable housekeeping and kitchen maintenance services to ensure guests experience cleanliness, comfort, and safety during their stay. The company operates within the vibrant hotel industry, dedicated to upholding high standards of hygiene, order, and customer satisfaction. As a hospitality company, it values attention to detail and the ability to perform various cleaning and food preparation tasks that contribute to the overall environment and operational success of the hotel. The position offered is full-time with variable hours that include shifts on weekends and holidays, reflecting the dynamic nature of hospitality services where guest needs occur around the clock.
The role of the Housekeeper is pivotal in maintaining guest rooms and kitchen areas in pristine condition. Responsibilities extend beyond simple cleaning tasks, as the housekeeper must ensure that all surfaces, fixtures, and furnishings are thoroughly cleaned, polished, and disinfected in accordance with health and safety standards. This includes expertise in the proper use and handling of cleaning chemicals and sanitizing agents to prevent contamination and maintain a safe environment for both guests and staff. Food preparation duties such as assisting with cooking tasks, food storage, rotation, and kitchen cleanliness are also integral parts of the role, ensuring that food service areas meet stringent hygiene requirements and support smooth operation of the kitchen staff.
The successful candidate will be required to manage waste removal properly, adhere to recycling and hazardous waste disposal regulations, and maintain dining utensils and kitchen equipment at the highest cleanliness level. Organizational skills are essential for restocking guest provisions such as soaps, shampoos, lotions, and stationery. The housekeeper will work closely with other team members, demonstrating communication skills in English—and preferably a second language such as Spanish—to foster effective teamwork and guest interaction.
Physical resilience and adaptability are core to this position. The housekeeper must be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods, frequently lifting and carrying weights between 25 and 60 pounds, and performing movements such as bending, stooping, and climbing. The role demands a bright, detail-oriented, and motivated individual who can operate efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. This multi-functional role is essential for creating a welcoming and sanitary atmosphere that supports the hotel’s reputation and the comfort and safety of its guests.
