The Main-Housekeeping Department at Temple University is actively seeking dedicated Overnight Housekeeping Team Members. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the university's facilities during the overnight hours. Hourly compensation for this position is $20.91, and the scheduled shift is Monday through Friday from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am. The Service Staff IV role reports directly to the Director of Operations & Facilities Management and is responsible for general housekeeping duties within assigned university areas. Responsibilities include floor maintenance tasks such as stripping, refinishing, waxing, and buffing using power machines, as well as general cleaning duties in classrooms, kitchens, offices, corridors, stairways, and restrooms. This role entails cleaning and maintaining the hygiene of various university areas including study corrals, glassware, labs, lecture halls, lounges, recreational zones, fitness centers, pools, game rooms, and T.V. lounges.

In addition to routine floor care including wet and dry mopping, the employee will clean walls, furniture, equipment, and stairways to ensure all areas are maintained to a high standard. The position requires on-call availability to respond to critical and emergency events on campus as needed. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of housekeeping experience in a business environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience, strong reading and writing skills, and must be able to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks including walking and bending. Working in damp environments is also a requirement for this role.
