Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years of related retail experience
- One year of management experience
- Experience with rotational assignments in departments such as meat, bakery, produce, deli, customer service or product flow
- Strong communication skills
- Conflict resolution ability
- Multitasking skills
- Financial and statistical analysis capabilities
- Ability to teach suggestive selling
- Leadership in safety practices
- Mentoring experience
- Required certifications completed
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members
- Responsible for staffing, selection and hiring to achieve staffing needs
- Promote succession planning by providing career paths and identifying development needs for team members
- Document and apply disciplinary actions and recommend discharge when necessary
- Responsible for profit and loss, achieving sales targets and maintaining shrink for the department
- Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service
- Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in all team meetings and conversations
- Mentor and coach team members to ensure customer service and sales goals are exceeded
- Ensure team members are thoroughly trained and have completed all required training
- Spend majority of time interacting with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service
- Promote a safe work environment
- Maintain reliable and consistent attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned
