Job Duties
- Greet guests in a warm and enthusiastic manner
- Assist host or hostess in seating guests
- Present menu and answer questions
- Make suggestions about food, service, wines, and food preparation
- Memorize menu selections and daily specials
- Use proper etiquette including serving ladies first
- Write or memorize orders
- Relay orders to kitchen and bar using point of sale system
- Observe guests and fulfill requests
- Total bill and accept payment or refer to cashier
- Ladle soup, portion pies and desserts, brew coffee
- Clear and reset counters or tables
- Assist in cleaning and wiping service and prep areas
- Maintain cash handling procedures
- Follow safe serve regulations for alcoholic beverages
- Handle reasonable guest complaints and requests
- Comply with health and safety regulations and company policies
