Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 or older
  • must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Service certification upon hire if not already certified
  • must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules including weekends and holidays
  • must have guest service experience preferably in an upscale setting
  • must be able to multi-task in a busy environment
  • must be able to lift 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • must have strong communication skills
  • must maintain a clean and professional image at all times

Job Duties

  • Greet all guests with enthusiasm and friendliness
  • acknowledge and greet all guests, anticipate guest needs, and respond to guest inquiries or requests
  • effectively merchandise food and beverage menus in an informative and friendly manner
  • communicate with food and beverage staff to ensure guest satisfaction
  • clean and reset dirty tables according to standards
  • clean and polish water glasses and silverware
  • monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
  • prepare work area for either opening or closing in accordance with company standards
  • ensure furniture and floors are kept clean and arranged
  • attend staff meetings to receive information and direction
  • contribute to a professional workplace that maximizes employee morale, productivity and effectiveness
  • perform additional responsibilities as requested by a manager
  • insure responsible service of alcohol by following all legal requirements including carding and consumption
  • accurately take food and beverage orders and promptly record all transactions in the Micros system
  • maintain guest tabs and facilitate payment following procedures
  • serve food and beverage to guests following company steps of service and adhere to service times
  • follow daily checklists and side work
  • set-ups, stocks and breakdown of service and dining room following procedures
  • complete all assigned cleaning duties
  • comply with direction and instruction from the management team
